About SeniorenNet Hamburg e.V.
german version

The community of interests was founded 1998 in Hamburg by Guenther Ruehmann under the name SeniorenNet Nord. In July 2000 the name was changed into SeniorenNet Hamburg. Since Nov. 2002 the SNHH is an registered society.

The SNHH is an association of people with similar interests, it is open to everybody who is interested and feels part of this age-group.

SNHH is ideologically and politically independent and has no commercial goals. The framework and limits of the activities of the SNHH are described in the first five articles of our constitution: human rights, freedom rights, equality rights, freedom of denomination, freedom of speech and of the press.

It is the goal of the SeniorenNet Hamburg to make the possibilities of communication of the new medium internet available and accessible:
* To make e-mail contacts throughout the country possible by means of mailing-lists for senior citizens
* Classes for senior citizens (women and men), who are open towards the multimedia world, but have some initial hesitation.
* For disabled people who need contact to the outside world and want to have this contact with the help of the internet.
Members of the SNHH offer advice and help, within the limits of their abilities, with buying a computer and learning to work with the necessary software for the internet. If there is demand for it, the association organizes courses for beginners.
Under the roof of Under the roof of the "Homepage des SeniorenNet Hamburg" groups with common interests can develop, which mainly serve the communication among each other, but are generally open to all visitors of the net.
